Indeed, locum tenens providers are shining stars, but they often cannot do it all on their own. To facilitate contracts and
help manage their schedules, temporary practitioners rely on their trusty company representatives to make the locum tenens
lifestyle run smoothly. Even then, some recruiters go above and beyond to provide them with the "star" treatment. As one physician
noted about his recruiter: "He makes me feel like I am famous, and he is my agent."
Other comments we received about recruiter nominees further attest to their value and the high regard felt for them. She takes care of me from A to Z. He ordered me pizza at the hospital when I could not leave to get lunch. She treats me as
an individual and understands my values. There is nothing he will not do to ensure that I am placed in a good locum tenens
position. She makes her providers feel like they are her only clients.
For the third year, locum tenens physicians and non-physician providers were offered the opportunity to acknowledge a recruiter
who truly does make them feel special. Votes were welcomed from current locum tenens practitioners and those who had accepted
matches since March 2007. Only one nomination per professional was accepted and, in the event of multiple nominations for
one company, the individual receiving the majority of ballots was selected as the agency's "Recruiter of the Year."
